Aryballe, the pioneer in digital olfaction, today announced that it is a Plan de Relance grant recipient, as part of the Resilience/Industry project for France. The €1.1M will support the further development of Aryballe’s digital olfaction technology through the construction of a state-of-the-art pilot line for silicon photonic-based odor sensors. This project is projected to create over 40 new jobs in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region.
In response to the COVID-19 health crisis, the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Relaunch has provided 150 million euros to support the most innovative companies in the region. Aryballe will devote this funding to the development of its industrial high volume production of miniaturized, universal, low-cost odor sensors. As the global demand for digital olfaction continues to grow across the flavor and fragrance, automotive and consumer appliance industries, the grant funding will help Aryballe accelerate production and break into new markets.
“Business leaders are accelerating innovation initiatives to compete and thrive in the evolving, post-pandemic, digital economy,” said Sam Guilaumé, Aryballe CEO. “The support of this Plan de Relance grant will help us scale our manufacturing operations to meet the increased customer demand for digital olfaction solutions.”
This news comes on the heels of Aryballe’s €7 million global funding round in July 2020 from investors across Europe, North America, and Asia. The round brought Aryballe’s total funding to date to €17 million.
