As we continue to reevaluate the economic impact of this crisis, I wanted to take a minute to share a few things that Aryballe is doing to not only help prevent the further spread of this virus, but also support our community during this difficult time.
For Our Customers
We continue to stay in close contact with our partners and suppliers regarding the availability of materials. Some of the materials we use are also needed for the production of medical ventilators needed to treat serious coronavirus patients, and as a result, we’ve felt it important to adjust our timeline of certain deliverables. Our customers have been briefed and fully support our decision to do our part in helping to aid life-saving coronavirus treatments.
What’s more, when it comes to cooking automation, or smart home automation in general, we’re seeing more integration and data connectivity. We’ve already witnessed this with the Nest Protect smoke detector, which communicates with smart lights that flash red if smoke is detected in the home. A similar scenario is possible with the smart oven and digital olfaction. Smell sensors could communicate with your smoke detector to let you know food is burning.
For Our Employees
Each of our offices have been closed in France and the U.S., and all employees are working remotely. On a case-by-case basis, and in accordance with President Emmanuel Macron’s orders, we are allowing some workers entrance to the lab in shifts to work on critical deliverables. Each employee must be outfitted in personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure there is no contamination of surfaces, and the shifts ensure they remain in isolation.
Our hearts are with our customers, our partners, our employees, and their family & friends all around the world. We continue to keep a close eye on the situation to ensure we’re doing all we can to both minimize disruption to our customers’ vital projects as well as provide a safe and supportive environment for our employees. If you have any questions about the preventative measures we’re taking, please reach out, and we’d be happy to answer them.
In the meantime, stay safe.
Sincerely.
Sam
