Why now?
We’ve talked quite extensively in the past about smell beingmore art than science. Unlike sight, sound, and taste, smell is much more complicated to mimic. For starters, our sense of smell is highly dependent on personal experience and the formation of memories. The scent of chocolate chip cookies, for example, may conjure up recollections of your grandmother’s house.
It’s also why efforts to produce a “digital nose” have been underway for decades, yet we’ve only started to see success in the last fewyears.
But since our founding in 2014, we’ve had ambitions bigger than creating the next digital nose, and in fact, believe smell plays a much more influential role in our day-to-day lives, including in how we come to trust companies and brands. That’s why today, we’re excited to unveil not only our new look, but our renewed mission.
How are we different?
Our combination of biochemistry, advanced optics and machine learning has achieved something no one else has been able to do—effectively mimic the human sense of smell. And we intend to deliver the fifth sense to sensor networks with our collection and analysis of meaningful odor data.
As a result,we’re no longer simply building devices, but delivering a platform for our customers and partners to solve meaningful industry problemsthrough continued innovation.A team passionate about odor data, we aim to empower organizationsto deliver the ultimate customer experience while generatingthe most revenue for their business. We do this by keeping the complexity of what we do under thehood, instead focusing on meaningful use cases that are going to solve real problems for real people.

This is the future of digital olfaction. And we’re going to deliver it.
